When we step into Jiang Jiuxue's flooring art museum, the first thing that catches our eyes is a variety of exquisite flooring, like silent narrators of historical stories. Under his careful collection and selection, these floors possess deeper artistic and educational value. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the story behind this unique art space, we invited Mr. Jiang Jiuxue for a conversation.
"The birth of this art museum actually originated from my personal collection," Jiang Jiuxue said at the beginning of the conversation, his eyes shining with a deep love and respect for flooring art.
We curiously asked, "So, can you share with us the growth process of this museum from personal collection to flooring art?"
He smiled and replied, "When I started collecting floors, I quickly realized that these floors were not just art pieces, but also carried rich history and traditional craftsmanship. So, I came up with an idea, which is to let more people learn and appreciate this unique art form by visiting and learning about these floors."
This idea reminds us of ancient book collectors who loved collecting books, but more importantly, they hoped to help more people understand and appreciate these precious cultural heritage through exhibitions and education. As Confucius said, "Learning without thinking is useless, thinking without learning is dangerous." Through learning and thinking, we can better understand and appreciate these art collections.
We continued to ask, "So, how did you decide which flooring to use for display and which for education?"
He replied, "This is a very interesting question. In fact, there is no fixed standard. I believe that every floor has its unique features. Some floors, due to their rarity and historical value, are more suitable for display. On the other hand, some floors can be made through on-site production demonstrations and process explanations to allow visitors to have a deeper understanding of their production process and material usage, making them more suitable for education."
This viewpoint reminds us of art museums during the Renaissance, where artworks were not only used for display, but also for education and inspiration. Da Vinci once said, "The true value of knowledge lies in its ability to transmit and share." Jiang Jiuxue's Floor Art Museum is such a bridge that perfectly combines knowledge and art.
We asked again, "What special significance do you think combining education with exhibition has for art museums and visitors?"
He answered affectionately, "I believe that art museums are not just places to showcase art, but also platforms for education. For art museums, through the combination of education and exhibition, we can better promote and inherit flooring art. For visitors, not only can they appreciate exquisite flooring art, but they can also gain a deeper understanding of the stories and craftsmanship behind flooring art through our education and explanation."
This view reminds us of ancient colleges, which were not only places for learning, but also centers for the exchange of ideas and culture. As Plato said, "True education is discovering one's own ignorance." In Jiang Jiuxue's Floor Art Museum, we can also discover our own ignorance through learning and appreciating art, and thus love and respect art more.
Finally, we ask, "What are your expectations or visions for the future?"
He said hopefully, "I hope this art museum can become a true art center, attracting more people to visit, learn, and exchange. I look forward to more people participating in our activities, creating and sharing this unique artistic experience together."
In the conversation with Jiang Jiuxue, we were deeply moved by his words. His passion, professionalism, and love for art have deeply inspired us. This flooring art museum is not only a place to showcase art, but also a platform for art education. It allows people to have a deeper understanding of the charm and value of flooring art.
