In a corner of the city, stands a unique villa, which is not an ordinary residence, but a floor art museum handmade by Jiang Jiuxue. We are honored to invite Jiang Jiuxue to share the story behind this art museum.
I first asked, "The predecessor of this art museum was a villa. How did you think of transforming this place into an art museum?"
Jiang Jiuxue smiled and answered, "I believe that every piece of wood, regardless of its size, has its unique story and value. When these pieces of wood are used as flooring, they become an indispensable part of our lives. I think, since these pieces of wood can become a part of our homes, why can't they become a carrier of art? This villa, to me, is like a blank canvas waiting to be filled."
His words reminded me of Leonardo da Vinci's famous saying: "Details determine perfection, and perfection leads to success." Whether it is the creation of art or the design of everyday objects, details and perfection are inseparable.
I asked again, "What difficulties did you encounter during the process of transforming this villa into an art museum?"
After pondering for a moment, Jiang Jiuxue replied, "The biggest challenge in the renovation process is how to find a balance between preserving the original structure and introducing new artistic elements. This requires us to carefully consider and plan in the design."
When it comes to the specific renovation process, Jiang Jiuxue said, "During the renovation process, we deliberately preserved some original structures, such as ancient brick walls and wooden beams. These elements stand out particularly in the newly added glass and metal elements."
I asked again, "So how did you choose exhibits for the art museum?"
He smiled and replied, "The process of choosing a work mainly depends on whether it matches the spiritual temperament of this villa. I hope that each exhibit can resonate with this space and together create a unique artistic atmosphere for visitors."
His words reminded me of Confucius' famous saying: "When three people walk together, there must be my teacher." In this context, every exhibit is Jiang Jiuxue's "teacher," and it is worth learning and learning from.
Through this conversation, I deeply feel Jiang Jiuxue's passion and reverence for art. For him, this art museum is not only a display space, but also a place for in-depth dialogue with art and history.
When I was about to end this interview, Jiang Jiu learned this sentence: "Art is everywhere. As long as we are willing to discover and feel, every moment in life can become a part of art." This sentence is not only his unique insight into art, but also his love and longing for life.
